Please be informed that OFPM will be carrying out the Annual Maintenance and Servicing and Power Interruption for N3.1 on 5 July 2009,Sunday from 0900hrs - 1900hrs.
Before the scheduled power interruption
1. Switch off all computers, equipments and power points.
2. To avoid overheating, do not switch on the electrical equipment/computers when there is no central aircon-supply.
3. Manually lock the security door before the scheduled power shut down.
During the scheduled power interruption
4. The fire alarm panels at your premises may buzz. The buzz will go off when the power is resumed.
5. Do not use lift within the scheduled shut off time.
6. You will experience very low water pressure.
Farewell To Dr Wang Zhi Hong (2009 Jun 19)
Dr. Wang Zhihong will be leaving the Micromachines Centre after having been working with MMC for more than 6 years on piezoelectric MEMS devices. He is now pursuing his career in Nanofabrication Lab of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia. The staffs and students of Micromachines Centre wish him all the best.
Delegates from Japan & Singapore Polytechnic (2009 Mar 9)
Delegates from Japan and Singapore Polytechnic visited the centre on Thursday, 26 February 2009.They were briefed on the research development and progress of the centre by Asso. Prof Lau Gih Keong.The delegates from Japan were Mr. Toru Yamagishi, Secretary General of Kanazawa Technical College, Mr. Akihiro Takimoto, Dean of Student Affairs/ Professor of Health and Coordinator,Dr. Masashi Tani, Associate Director, Office of Planning and Coordination/Director, Dream factory and Prof. Mamoru Mukai is the interpreter and Coordinator
Visit by Fukuoka Institute of Technology, Japan (2008 Dec 9)
Professor Hozumi Goto and Professor Claudiu Valentin Suciu, Fukuoka Institute of Technology, Japan visited the centre on 5 Dec 2008. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1954, and it was chartered as a university in 1963.
